Push Over returns for 2007 during the Labour Day weekend, Saturday 10th March from midday to 10pm at Shed 4 Docklands, Melbourne. The all ages, drug, alcohol and smoke-free event will feature Silverchair, Something For Kate, Behind Crimson Eyes, Karnivool, The Spazzys, Bliss N Eso, Horsell Common, Trial Kennedy, Children Collide, Mammal, Angela's Dish, Arpejio & Fire Underground. Kat Frankie launches her new single The Tops in Sydney on Friday February 2 at Spectrum, Darlinghurst, and in Melbourne on Friday February 9 at Don't Tell Tom bar, Brunswick. For the last year and a half, she has been based in Berlin, Germany where she recorded her album Pocketknife currently slated for release in Germany, the UK and Australia early this year. After these two shows she will head back to Germany for a tour during March.

New Buffalo aka Sally Seltmann returns in 2007 with the new single Cheer Me Up Thank You, the first to be lifted from her forthcoming second album Somewhere, Anywhere due out late March on Dot Dash. To promote the single she will be taking to the road for a series of shows in the coming weeks, including a string of headline dates in early March in support of her new single. Further details »

Tuesday, 23rd

Princess One Point Five is in the studio this month to record a new single with a tentative release date of early February. The single is in anticipation of the group touring Sydney performing Saturday March 10 at Spectrum with Bryce Jacobs, Genevieve Maynard and The Tall Boys. Before then they play in Melbourne opening for Holly Throsby and Dan Kelly on Friday February 2 at the Northcote Social Club. Late March will see the band heading to New Zealand for a two piece tour, followed by a tour of Europe during June and July.

Thursday, 18th

Intercooler is set to release its second album Forever Or Whatever on February 24 through +1 Records. To celebrate this release, the band launches the album in Queensland over two nights: Thursday 15 February at Sol Bar, Coolum supported by Jump 2 Light Speed; Friday 16 February at The Zoo, Brisbane on Friday 16 February supported by Jump 2 Light Speed and Del Toro.

Golden Plains has announced its second round of acts and they are: The Presets, George Rrurrambu and Birdwave, Darren Hanlon, Riot In Belgium, Jamaica Irie featuring RuCL and Jigzie Campbell, Muscles, Muph & Plutonic, Sunwrae Ensemble, Dexter; plus internationals Mad Professor, Sebastian and Kavinsk (Ed Banger), Dudley Perkins and Georgia Anne Muldrow. Tucker B's play their last show Sydney shows for quite some time on Thursday January 25 at the Sydney Big Day Out and Friday January 26 at the Hopetoun Hotel w/ The Tigers, Captain Nemo and Richard In Your Mind.

wOg is a new project for Ray Ahn of the Hard-Ons and avant-garde free-jazz improviser Robbie Avenaim who has worked with Dave Grohl and Mike Patton. Out now on Chatterbox records is the duo's debut album We Are wOg. The long player, clocking in at around fifteen minutes, was recorded with Chris Townend at Big Jesus Burger studios.

Friday, 12th

Dead Frenchmen are set to release their debut album Wonderland on February 10 through Timberyard Records. The album was recorded with Lindsay Gravina at Birdland Studios. The band will support the release with a national album tour in March.

Expatriate releases the EP Play A Part in stores February 10 through Dew Process. Coinciding with the extended player's release will be a national tour during February, as well as spots on the Sydney Big Day Out and Laneway Festival. March will the band heading to the US for a run of dates at SXSW in Austin Texas, plus dates in Los Angeles and New York. The EP is the first taste of the band's forthcoming album In the Midst of This, which was recorded in the Seattle with producer John Goodmanson and is due out later in the year. Further details »

Thursday, 11th

The Beasts Of Bourbon are set to release their new album Little Animals in early 2007 on Albert Productions. The band recently signed a worldwide recording deal with the aforementioned label. In other news the band is set to be part of the 2007 SXSW music conference in Austin Texas during March.

Jackson Jackson is a new project for Harry James Angus of The Cat Empire and sound engineer and composer Jan Skubiszewski The debut release for the duo is the album The Fire Is On The Bird due out March 17 on EMI Music.

The St Jeromes Laneway Festival organisers have announced the second and final line-up for this year's festival. Appearing in all three cities is Snowman, Gersey, Dan Kelly, Holly Throsby, and The Shaky Hands; Dappled Cities Fly play Brisbane and Sydney only; The Crayon Fields and Bumblebeez play Melbourne and Sydney; The Bellrays, Expatriate, and My Disco play Sydney only; and lastly Curse ov Dialect and Love of Diagrams join the Melbourne bill. Tickets to the first Melbourne event on Saturday Feb 24 have sold out but tickets are still available for Sunday Feb 25, Brisbane Saturday Mar 3 and Sydney Sunday March 4. Overcranked organisers have announced the second of acts for this year's festival happening Saturday March 24 at RNA Showgrounds, Brisbane. Added to the bill are Frenzal Rhomb, The Hard-Ons, Lord, (Jobson’s) Dreamkillers, The Amity Affliction, 50 Lions, Rollerball, Beijing Tank, and Ruins. Bright Yellow has released its EP Love's Not A Comfort on new label Boundary Sounds, marking the first release for the fledgling label. The extended player was produced by Matt Lovell (Silverchair, The Mess Hall, Something For Kate), and mixed by James Cadsky (Bumblebeez, Young and Restless).

Augie March heads out on the road in late February and through out March for a national tour. Main support on the tour is Canadian singer songwriter Joel Plaskett and his band The Emergency. Holly Throsby will also support in Sydney and Melbourne. In Perth the band will join the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra for two special shows in Kings Park. Mid 2007 the band will head into the studio to begin recording the next album. Further details »

Red Riders are on the road this February and March for a national tour in support of their debut album Replica Replica. February will also see the band as a support on Snow Patrol's sold out Australian tour. Tickets to the band's headline tour go on sale January 18. Further details »

Deloris takes its fourth album Ten Lives on the road this January launching it in Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong before returning to Melbourne. February the band heads over to Western Australia. The album is out now on Dot Dash. Further details »
