Tuesday, 19th

The Temper Trap and Snowman team up for a run of shows together this January. Both bands have recent releases: The Temper Trap a self-titled debut EP, and Snowman a self-titled debut album. Further details »

Peabody is now a 4-piece with the addition of second guitarist Tristan Courtney-Prior and new drummer Jared Harrison (Bluebottle Kiss). The band will be playing a warm-up show out of Sydney in January followed by the official unveiling of the new line-up on Saturday February 24 at the Hopetoun, Sydney.

Thursday, 14th

Macromantics heads out on a national headline tour this February. Before then she plays the Big Day Out and supports Peaches in Sydney and Melbourne this January. A remix of her single Scorch by the Roshambo crew will hit the airwaves first thing January. Further details »

The Morning After Girls have rescheduled their Sydney show, originally this December, to Friday January 12 at The Factory in Newtown with supports to be announced. Before then the band performs in Melbourne on Saturday December 16 at Bootleg, supported by Die! Die! Die!, Damn Arms, and The Instant.

Wednesday, 13th

Big Day Out have announced the third and final round of acts for the 2007 summer festival. Joining the bill are The Vines, Snowman, Sick Puppies, Digital Primate, Mark Murphy, Foreign Heights, TZU, Macromantics, Dan Kelly & The Alpha Males, Gersey, Ground Components; plus internationals Luciano, DJ Sir-Vere, That 1 Guy, P-Money, Heavy Flint Show, and DJ Gedo Super Mega Bitch Mrs Flint 4. Tickets for Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne have sold out but limited tickets for Sydney and Gold Coast are available via an online ballot at www.bigdayout.com

Bit By Bats have signed to Melbourne independent label Shiny Records. The first release on the aforementioned label will be the trio's debut album Go, Go, Go! due in early 2007. The long player was recorded at Birdland Studios with Lindsay Gravina, Rob Long and Magic Dirt's Dean Turner.

The Great Escape festival has announced the second round of acts for the 2007 event happening the Easter long weekend Friday April 6 – Sunday April 8 at Newington Armory, Sydney Olympic Park. Joining the bill are John Butler Trio, Little Birdy, The Cops, The Temper Trap, Bliss N Eso, Darren Hanlon, Holly Throsby, Angus & Julia Stone, Stick Figures, Ooh La La, Operator Please; plus internationals Deerhoof, Flogging Molly, and Gogol Bordello. Sunday, 3rd

Sparkadia has released the radio single Morning Light as a free download during December 2 to 16 from www.myspace.com/sparkadia. In support of the single the band is on the road this December. The single is the first track from the band's forthcoming EP Things Behind The Sun due out in 2007. Further details »

The Morning After Girls return to Australia early December for two shows: Saturday December 16 at Bootleg, Melbourne supported by Die! Die! Die!, Damn Arms, and The Instant; Saturday December 23 at The Factory, Sydney. The band has spent the last ten months trotting the globe playing shows and festivals in the UK and the US, and is currently in the middle of a UK tour with The Brian Jonestown Massacre, followed by a headline show in Japan before heading home.

Black Pony Express launches its debut album Love In A Cold Place in Melbourne on Friday December 8 at The Tote with special guests Quincy McLean (Blue Ruin), Khancoban, and Clinkerfield. Engineered and co-produced by Simon Grounds, the album is being released world wide by Spanish label BANG! Records. The band is heading to Europe in mid 2007.
