Default Jamerson (ex-Snap! Crakk!/Vivian Girls) plays his second ever solo show on Saturday December 17 at Melbourne's Bus Gallery. Also performing on the night will be Lindsay Low Hand (Scott from True Radical Miracle), Archaic Forms, and Flesh vs Venom in the headline slot. Five dollars at the door, show starts at 9.30pm.

Gerling plays its fourth annual Christmas show on Friday December 23 at the Annandale Hotel, Sydney. The show caps off a year that has seen the band complete work on its fourth album, which was recorded over seven weeks in LA with producer Ethan Johns. The St Jeromes Laneway Festival returns in 2006 for the second year in Melbourne on Sunday 26 February and its inaugural year in Sydney on Sunday 5 March. The first round of acts to be announced for both cities are headliners The Avalanches, New Buffalo, Youth Group; plus international guests Broken Social Scene, Les Savy Fav, The Hold Steady, and Pretty Girls Make Graves. The Melbourne line-up will also feature Augie March and Temper Temper; while joining the Sydney bill is Art Of Fighting, Gersey, Clare Bowditch, and overseas outfits The Ravonettes and The Gossip. Sydney record label Heavy, the creation of Tony Dupe, will be holding a showcase event on Friday December 9 at the Mandarin Club featuring artists that Tony has worked with in recent times, and those with current or upcoming Heavy releases. Performing on the night will be The Woods Themselves, Jack Ladder, Joseph Leonard, Kid Cornered, Night Radio, Derwent River Star and AFX Jim. Doors open 7:30pm and entry is $10, with the first 50 payers will receiving a free Heavy sampler CD.
