Friday, 30th

iOTA is set to star in the Australian production of the rock musical, Hedwig and The Angry Inch. The production will run from August 11 through till September 3 in Sydney at @Newtown before heading to Melbourne. iOTA performs the main character of Hedwig. d.rogers is set to release his new album ‘neath the dark of fuses blown in stores July 15 with distribution via MGM. In support of the release he performs Thursday July 13 at Northcote Social Club, Melbourne supporting Angie Hart.

Thursday, 29th

Wolf & Cub hit the road during late to support NYC outfit TV On The Radio on Sunday July 23 at Hi Fi Bar, Melbourne and Tuesday July 25 at The Gaelic Club, Sydney. The band is currently putting the finishing touches to its debut album, Vessels, due for release locally in August.

ColourFast releases its debut album Walk in stores July 15 through MGM. The release will be supported by a tour taking in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Newcastle kicking off mid July and going through till early August. Further details »

Friday, 23rd

Unpaid Debut is set to release its debut album Southern Cross Bones in stores August 10 through Shrine Records. The group will embark on an extensive national tour through out August and September. The Predators embark on an east coast tour this July in support of their debut EP Pick Up The Pace. The three piece features Ian Haug and J.C of Powderfinger on guitar and bass respectively, plus Bish on vocals. The six track extended player is released July 1 on Dew Process. Further details »

Wednesday, 21st

Ned Collette of Melbourne group City City City releases his debut solo album Joke & Trials on July 29 through Dot Dash. July will see Ned performing with Mogwai and Holly Throsby as well as playing his own headlining gigs. A national tour will follow the release of the album.

The Howling Bells release their debut self-titled album in stores July 1 on Liberation Music. The twelve track long player was recorded with producer Ken Nelson. In support of the release the band hits the road from late June till early July for an east coast tour. Further details »

Joseph Leonard launches his new album Weather Vane Woman on Thursday June 29 at the Hopetoun Hotel, Sydney. He will be performing with his band The Family Fuse featuring Bon King (El Mopa, Cannanes), Dave Cotsios (The Woods Themselves), Kurt Sorensen (Founder, The Woods Themselves) and in his farewell show Neil Love. Supports will be Rand & Holland and Underlapper. The album is out now on independent label Heavy.

Tuesday, 20th

The Model School, aka Brendan Wixted, hits the road in late June and throughout July in support of his debut album Alarm Clock Radiation in stores July 1 on Shiny Records. The album is launched in Sydney on Friday July 8 at The Hopetoun Hotel and in Melbourne on Friday July 21 at the Pony, both shows will feature I Love Space and Merle Morris as supports. The Presets undertake a run of east coast dates during the second half of July before heading overseas. The overseas tour will see the group performing at UK festivals including Hi-Fi, Creamfields, V, Global Gathering, shows throughout Europe and also the US. Further details »

Moscow Schoolboy tour Sydney this winter performing: Saturday July 19 at Rebel Rebel, Home Nightclub w/ The Devoted Few; Thursday August 17 at The Gaelic Club, Surry Hills w/ She Wants Revenge. The group's EP My Sister and The Devil is out now on Silent Partner Recordings through Inertia.

Nick Murphy, a key founding member of Melbourne band The Anyones, has released his debut solo release Breaking The Light on Cavalier Music. The album features guest musicians including Ross McLennan, Dave Ong, Ben Mason, Chris Brodie and Phillipa Nihill. In support of the release Nick will be touring around the country during July and August.

Thursday, 8th

Radio Birdman hits the road during July and August for an east coast tour in support of the new album, Zeno Beach, in stores June 24 on the band's own Crying Sun Records. Support on the first half of the tour is US outfit The BellRays. Further details »

FReeZACentral is hosting free, accredited training days around Victoria for young people aged 15 to 25 who are interested in a music industry career. Bluebottle Kiss' sixth album Doubt Seeds is released in stores June 12 on Nonzero Records. The record is actually a double album containing two CDs.

Friday, 2nd

The Model School, aka Brendan Wixted, releases his debut album Alarm Clock Radiation in stores July 1 on Shiny Records. The Sydney-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist recorded the long player at Damien Gerard Studios in Sydney with additional recording and mixing done at his home studio. In the lead up to the release he plays the South by Inner West Festival on Sunday June 11 at the Annandale Hotel, Sydney.

Ripe, after reforming earlier this year, launches its EP Galaxies and Stars in Melbourne on Friday June 23 at The Tote. Supports on the night are Tiger By The Tail, Astral Kaleidescope, and The Capitals. Produced by Lindsay Gravina it is the band's first release after a ten year hiatus. The EP is released on Timberyard Records through Inertia.
