Dan Bull launches his debut self-titled EP on Sunday May 1 at Amplifier, Perth with guests Kav Temperly (Eskimo Joe), Katy Steele (Little Birdy) and Steve Parkin. The extended player was recorded at Debaser Studios with Joel Quartermain (Eskimo Joe), Rodney Aravena (End of Fashion) and Andy Lawson (The Avenues).

Baggsmen have bid farewell to keyboard player Will Frasier who has has relocated to Seattle. The remaining two members, Tony Buchen (frontman/bassplayer) and Lachlan Brahe (drums) are heading back in to the studio to begin work on the group's third record. Before that happens they perform Sunday 17 April at the Beach Road Hotel, Bondi with guest keyboard player Jerry Craib (bluejuice).
Halogen tours the east coast for the first time in two years with a whirlwind tour in June, in support of the single In the Summer. Peabody releases its second album, The New Violence, in stores May 2 on Nonzero distributed by Shock. The band hits the road from mid April to mid May for an east coast tour, including a spot at the Come Together Festival at Sydney's Luna Park. Youth Group has signed a deal with US record label Epitaph. The deal will see the release of the band's second album Skeleton Jar in the US May 24, UK July 11 and the rest of Europe September 5. Before undertaking a extensive UK and US touring for the remainder of 2005, the band will play one last Sydney show on Friday April 15 at Spectrum with supports Knievel, La Huva and The Woods Themselves.
Sophie Koh hits the road from in late April and May for east coast dates in support of the single Anywhere, lifted from the forthcoming debut album All The Pretty Boys due in July. The single was produced by Richard Pleasance and features the late Paul Hester on drums. Further details »
La Huva has released its second album entitled, Midnight Black & White, on Cavalier Music. The long player was recorded on old analogue gear and mixed by Wayne Connolly. The band launches the album in Sydney on Friday April 22 at the Hopetoun, followed by a show in Melbourne on Sat April 30 at the Rob Roy with Ross McLennan.
Mia Dyson has released her second album Parking Lots through MGM Distribution. The album was recorded with her live band late last year at a holiday house in Mount Martha and in the bungalow out of the back of her house with Lloyd Barratt who co-produced the album with Mia. Nick Launay mixed the album at Sing Sing Studios in January this year. Special guests include: Renee Geyer, Matt Walker, Carl Pannuzzo, Simon Nugent, and Steve Hesketh. A full national tour will coincide with the album's release.
Mountains In The Sky, a project by Melbourne musician John Lee, has signed to independent label Trifekta Records. The first release is a nine track mini-LP tentatively entitled Celestial Son, slated for release on May 30.
Fred Astereo aka Stanely Paulzen from Ruck Rover has released his debut album, I Love You, on Lost and Lonesome Recording Co. He is currently in the midst of an east coast tour with the remaining dates as follows: Friday 15th of April @ Corner Hotel, Melbourne, VIC; Saturday 16th of April @ The Venue, Hobart, TAS.
Architecture In Helsinki hits the road this April and May for an east coast tour. The run of dates is in support of the band's second album In Case We Die out now on its own label Tailem Bend, and distributed by Inertia. Ed Kuepper and Jeffrey Wegener will re-unite this April, for a series of exclusive Wednesday night shows at The Troubadour in Fortitude Valley. These shows will see the duo play a wide selection of Kuepper's material covering the entire spectrum of his career from The Saints, through the Laughing Clowns, to his most recent solo material. Doors open at 8pm and entry is $12 on the door.
Splendour In The Grass returns for its fifth year on the weekend of Saturday July 23 and Sunday July 24 at Byron Bay's Belongil Fields. The first round of acts to be announced are Shihad and Sarah Blasko; plus internationals Queens Of The Stoneage, Interpol, Bloc Party and Moby. Event and camping tickets go on sale on Monday May 9.

Rock'n'Bowl 2 an all ages event combining bowling and bands is set to happen Sunday May 1 at Kingpin Bowling Lounge - Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre, cnr of Victoria and Burnley St, Richmond, Melbourne.
